Chapter Eleven

“Yummy.” Moaning around the lush papaya in her mouth, Miracle closed her eyes, savoring the taste of the fruit so like mango but different. She preferred crunchy things but found she loved the taste of fruit—except bananas, they made her gag. Yucky, slimy things. Opening her eyes, she saw Kris sprawled against the expansive loveseat. Though she couldn’t see his eyes behind his shades, the smile playing around the corners of his mouth said she amused him. He enjoyed indulging her, it seemed. She reveled in his indulgence.

“What are you smiling at?” She wanted to hear him say it even though she already knew.

“You. So cute and adorable. Come sit with me.” Leaning forward, he tugged her free hand.

Allowing her eyes to trail from the proffered hand to his forearm laced with veins he’d gained from lifting weights every day then farther up to his bulging biceps that tested the linen encasing them with every flex of his muscles. Relaxed, he was power. Here, with her, his eyes spoke of desire and so much more, beckoning her to do as he asked.

“No.” Always contrary, as her mother would say, and that her obstinance had nothing to do with being autistic. That was just who she was: a miracle but contrary as hell.

Sitting back, she smirked, taking her last piece of papaya and slipping it with deliberate slowness into her mouth.

“Minx.” Growling, he shifted, adjusting himself. She covered her mouth, smothering her naughty teasing and giggles. “Oh, so you got jokes?” He quirked his brow at her, nodding like he’d accepted the challenge.

He stood. She reared back. “No,” she squeaked, laughing, covering her face in mock terror.

“Oh, no. You wanna play, let’s fucking play.” He picked her up like she was nothing.

Holding on for dear life, she squeezed her eyes closed as he took an unnecessary amount of time maneuvering her.

Finally, she was back upright. She wiggled on his hard thigh pressing under her thighs. He flexed and drew her down on his hardness.

“Ow,” he grumbled after she smacked his shoulder. “I’m going to make you kiss it. Now be good, porcupine.” He dropped his head against the loveseat, nudging her so she was against his chest and her head rested in the crook of his neck.

“The view is better on this side,” he said. He was right; the entire garden was before them. He’d purchased acres of land, and it was beautiful to behold from the veranda that led out from his master suite. There was the first part of the garden they picnicked in to her right and the more secluded area camouflaged by trees on their left. A blush skated along her cheeks. Biting her bottom lip, she snuggled closer.

She could feel his eyes on her. With all the things they’d done, she should be good—sated, but still… He was gorgeous, and he was going back to Greece soon.

“What’s going on, baby?” Touching her tummy with nimble fingers, he snuck under the cami she wore. A thoughtless spaghetti strap slipped down her shoulder.
